This fountain of hollyhocks was built over a period of 300 hours or so, hand crafted, as all fountains are, not necessarily from pictures, but from inspiration. Each stem has its own shut-off or volume control and according to water pressure will shoot up from a gentle trickle to 10 feet or so. Ideally, they should have the water come out the top of the stem about 2 or 3 inches and gently cascade down on the flowers and petals, according to the application or installation to minimize overspray. They are versatile and can be installed in or outdoors. This fountain was built in 1985 and stood for 10 years in an art gallery in Toronto. Gradually in time the minerals in the water crystallized on the copper and naturally patinaed this fountain producing colours of purple, blue and green. Gracefully antiquing and aging the fountain. They stand approximately 6 feet high with a diameter of about 2 feet. For more information or pricing please email paul@copperfountainsculptures.com. |
