The bulrushes were many years in the making.  They were in my mind and waiting to be born for about 5 years.  One day in a scrap yard in the U.S.A., I saw a bin of small copper tubes, and immediately knew that I had found my bulrushes.  I collected about 2 bags of them and had them stored for several years.  I was still trucking so I didn't have time to build them yet.  When I finally got to them,  I only had about 4 tubes left.  With these 4 tubes, I created the first set of bulrushes.  I've had the original set for about 15 years.  Since then,  I've created different interpretations and variations of these fountains with great delight and success.  They are one of my favorite and adorn my partner's (girlfriend) backyard pond and also sit indoors as a dry sculpture.  They stand an average of about 5 1/2 feet tall and are about 2 feet in diameter.  Of course each stem has a shut-off valve and will shoot the water to varying heights. An all copper fountain, they are very graceful and soothing to experience  For more information or pricing please email paul@copperfountainsculptures.com.
